      • Send an SMS with your EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) number to 1950 (e.g., if your EPIC is 12345678, send “ECI 12345678” to 1950).
      • Download the Voter Helpline App for Android or iOS.
  2. Know Your Candidates:
    • Visit the Candidate Affidavit Portal or use the Voter Helpline App to see the list of candidates. This data is updated as affidavits are filed by candidates.
  3. Find Your Polling Booth:
    • Use the Voter Search Portal or the Voter Helpline App to locate your polling booth.
    • You can also call the Voter Helpline at 1950 (add your STD code before dialing).
  4. Voting Process at the Polling Booth:
    • On election day, proceed to your assigned polling booth.
    • Carry a valid identification document (such as your Voter ID card, Passport, Driving License, or Service Identity Cards issued by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Limited Companies).
    • Follow these steps:
      1. The first polling official will check your name on the voter list and verify your ID proof.
      2. The second polling official will ink your finger, provide you with a slip, and take your signature on a register (Form 17A).
      3. Deposit the slip with the third polling official, show your inked finger, and proceed to the polling booth.
      4. Record your vote by pressing the ballot button opposite the symbol of your chosen candidate on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). You’ll hear a beep sound.
      5. Check the slip that appears in the transparent window of the VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) machine. It displays the candidate’s serial number, name, and symbol for 7 seconds before dropping into the sealed VVPAT box.
      6. If you don’t like any candidate, you can press NOTA (None of the Above)—it’s the last button on the EVM.
